Learning... Learning... LEARNING.....

Updated: Jun 4, 2021

Mega is proud to be part of the learning journey with undergraduates, particularly students who are eager in exchanging ideas in the Agarwood field.

Students from the local University of Tun Hussien Onn Malaysia, visited our distillery plant in Durian Tunggal, Melaka.

The visit includes a tour and detail explanation to the distillery processes, exploring many subjects about Agarwood , and most importantly sustainable planting of Agarwood Tree.

As the students prepares for its final semester, they were require to produce a thesis regarding Agarwood processing. Many questions were asked , and a particular question that caught our attention was, the discussion surrounding the complexity of resin formation within the tree, as we share these experiences with the students, they have eagerly took notes on our experience and the touching the topic of inoculation.

That goes to the importance of inoculation process, whereby it introduce as a method using natural microbes as a 'catalyst' to wound the tree. This would activate the tree 'defenses', and it produces its resin to counter, in attempt to the tree's recovery phase. Uniquely, it is the resin that forms within the Agarwood tree, is the part that we used to extract / distilled it to Agarwood Oil known as Oud.

There is a study published in the website , well written by Rozi MOHAMED • Phai Lee JONG • Abd Kudus KAMZIAH about fungal infection induces into Agarwood Tree. It clearly explains the process, and the transition of the inducement.

We congratulate this students and the authors to this study , of their professionalism in documenting the crucial information about inoculation.

We too will be looking forward to produce our journal, for the purpose of sharing its knowledge and documenting for future reference.

Lets enjoy and explore the complexity of nature!

Good luck To These Undergraduates, We Hope We Can join in hands to bring up the Agarwood Industry !

We welcome anyone to visit our plant, please contact us in order to schedule an appointment.
